Accelerating Climate Action in Hamilton & Wenham
CLIMATE ACTION TEAMS CELEBRATE LOCAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Many members of Hamilton Wenham Climate Action Team (HWCAT), the Hamilton Environmental Impact Committee (HEIC), the Wenham Climate Action and Sustainability Committee (WCASC), the Superintendent of Schools, solar provider Solect Solar, the House Representatives for Hamilton and Wenham, and residents who have electrified their homes, gathered to celebrate their collective accomplishments in progressing toward net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. Accomplishments included a fleet of 15 new electric school buses, existing and planned solar canopies, the implementation of community choice aggregation (CCA), and the cost savings already gained from renewable energy sources in both towns. By celebrating past accomplishments, these climate activists are charged up and ready to take on more projects getting both towns closer to net-zero.
